The Faith Factor

‘And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.’
— Hebrews 11:6 (NLT)

As you continue on your 21-Day Prayer & Fasting Experience, you may find yourself seeking answers about aspects of your life you have presented to God many times. You feel like your prayers are in a holding pattern and you are waiting months or even years for a reply. So, how do you keep a vibrant prayer life when it seems God is not answering?

Choose not to give up and to double down on your faith in Him. Whether you’re praying for healing, for a spouse or your marriage, for a baby or your grown children, for a new job or a financial breakthrough, for your calling or a new ministry venture, your faith is the critical factor in approaching God.

While God desires for you to be candid about your feelings, be careful not to allow your emotions to overwhelm your faith and trust in Him. Genuine faith in Him endures unanswered prayer.

He promises to listen and answer your prayers before you stop praying (Isaiah 65:24) and to reward you for diligently seeking His best for your life (Hebrews 11:6).

God’s best is in one of the three ways He answers prayer: yes, no, or wait. Whatever the answer, remind yourself that God’s will for your life is always “good, and perfect and pleasing” (Romans 12:2 NLT). Placing your faith in Him and His all-knowing and loving ways pushes you through doubt, disappointment, and even disillusionment with God.

Today’s Prayer

Father, I come to you with child-like faith believing in You and accepting your perfect will over my life. I know you hear me and answer my prayers before I even finish speaking. Please give me the strength and endurance to continue to seek you in prayer knowing everything I need is in you. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
